The XXXX Strategic Plan calls for accessible, accurate and timely data to provide insight and lead to action, including development of learning analytics to support engaged student learning. This Information Strategy develops the detailed goals and activities around this.
1
To create an innovative and inspiring learning environment and provision for learners that extends beyond the traditional boundaries of the classroom. To ensure learners will have access to high quality teaching, learning and assessment that embeds digital learning where appropriate to motivate, stretch and empower learners to reach their potential.
2
To provide our students with an outstanding learning experience, enriched through the creative use of digital technologies that motivate, stretch and empower learners to reach their potential, now and in the future, so they develop the digital skills that equip them for employment or higher study.
3
Many of the businesses that are prospering in today’s competitive marketplace have created advantage by successfully exploiting technology. Digitised organisations are able to deliver the radical overhaul of business processes that provide the speed and quality of service that customers now demand, including: intuitive interfaces; around-the-clock availability; real-time fulfilment; inividualised experiences; global consistency; and zero errors
4
The last few years have seen a fundamental shift in the way that education can be made available to learners. The widespread availability of mobile and desk-based devices offers not only new opportunities for student interaction with learning content but also flexibility in learning design and delivery. While XXX has a reputation for high calibre teaching and there are existing pockets of excellent digital practice at XXX there is a need for cultural change in which learning pedagogy is challenged and enhanced.
5
‘XXXX Blended’ approach will provide excellence in teaching, learning and assessment using accessible, flexible and personalised teaching and learning methods, designed to motivate and stretch and challenge learners of all levels and abilities and will ensure all our learners are given every opportunity to achieve their full potential. Learning will be supported and created using a ‘blend’ of approaches with a focus on the use of learning technologies and our college vle Moodle platform, which will set out a baseline quality standard to enhance every learner’s experience and their lifelong learning journey. Methods of engagement will include, face-to-face classroom learning, flipped learning, independent learning outside the classroom,
collaborative learning and project work, self-paced adaptive learning, ‘active’ learning using Triptico touch screen technologies, and, where appropriate a programme of online learning

Providers of further and higher education are operating in an environment which is being profoundly disrupted by digitisation. Today’s students are increasingly living in a modern, digitised environment where technology impacts on every aspect of their lives. To continue to be relevant to these students, XXX College must meet their expectations by delivering a
digital learning experience which will become less location/time specific, and more individualised to student needs and collaborative in nature.
